To stage a substantially exciting Chinese orchestral concert, the number of musicians involved can vary from a minimum of 20 to as many as 100. The larger the touring group, the more versatile and entertaining the programming can be.

The most splendid performance is, of course, by a full orchestra. With Chinese orchestral music composition taking flight in the late seventies and eighties, many large-scale symphony-like orchestral works were composed for a full Chinese orchestra. Undeniably, a full Chinese orchestra has the dexterity to present a fascinating array of repertoire. For SCO, the full orchestra consists of 70 over musicians.

It is also possible for an ensemble to be on tour. The ensemble can be a scale-down version of a full orchestra comprising several key instruments from each section or from a particular section alone. The number of ensemble members can range from 7 to 45.

Solo performances by our musicians can also be arranged.
