Singapore,  23 May 2019 (Thursday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO)’s Lunchtime Concert returns with An Afternoon of Golden Melodies, presenting familiar melodies and theme songs from television drama series Singaporeans grew up with. Conducted by SCO Assistant Conductor Moses Gay, th concert will be held on 31 May 2019 (Friday), 12.30pm at SCO Concert Hall. Admission is free and pre-registration is strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment.

From familiar songs like Eric Moo’s Kopi-O(咖啡乌), Good Morning Sir! (早安老师)and The Awakening (雾锁南洋), Law Wai Lun’s rearrangement of Medley of Television Drama Theme Songs(电视主题曲联奏) will leave you reminiscing for more of the drama theme songs Singaporeans are familiar with. Aficionados of the Chinese orchestra will also enjoy Li Jixin’s arrangement of the evergreen Cantonese tune Thunderstorm and Drought(旱天雷).

Fans of Taiwanese songwriter Liu Chia-chang will be in for a treat as SCO will perform Lincoln Lo and Law Wai Lun’s rearrangement of a selection of his tunes in The Past Can Only Be Remembered(往事只能回味). For those who enjoy Jin Yong (Louis Cha)’s wuxia novels, The Legend of the Condor Heroes Trilogy (射雕三部曲)will definitely bring you back to the exciting scenes of the action surrounding the Condor Heroes. The concert will also present Law Wai Lun’s First Movement: Overture from The Wandering Songstress(天涯歌女 之 第一乐章:序曲).
