Singapore, 3 September 2012 (Monday) – This mid-autumn, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will make its stop at Singapore’s fun-filled integrated resort – the Resorts World Sentosa. SCO Associate Conductor Quek Ling Kiong will lead the orchestra on 29 September at The Forum Stage to perform an evening of your favourite dance classics to tickle your feet! This concert is proudly sponsored by the Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Gift of Music Series. Admission is free.
SCO will be performing the second movement of Suite of Taiwan by Zhou Cheng Long and Ma Sheng Long, Reminisces of Paramount, Di Tanjong Katong, Johann Strauss II’s Pizzicato Polka, Mambo No. 5, Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, Leroy Anderson’s Chicken Reel and Xu Chang Jun’s zestful. The SPH Gift of Music Series has been entertaining Singapore audiences since its launch in 2005. Sponsored by the SPH, the popular free concert series has brought music to the community in various locations such as the heartlands, parks, shopping malls, schools, campuses and the Esplanade.
