Singapore, 25 September 2012 (Tuesday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO)’s Associate Conductor Quek Ling Kiong will transform the SCO Concert Hall into a meteorological station! Have you ever wondered how music could form a musical marriage with the weather? How could music describe the weather we experience every day? Join the SCO in this specially choreographed concert on 9 and 10 November (Friday & Saturday) at the SCO Concert Hall.

Quek Ling Kiong will transform himself to be the weatherman while he leads the SCO with specially selected music pieces related to the various climatic conditions we experience every day – sun, wind, thunder, rain and lightning. Children will get to hear music pieces such as Melodies of Spring, Spring at River Yi, John Gummoe’s Rhythm of the Rain, Focus – The Dazzling White Sun from Soundscape, Kuan Nai Chung’s Raining Allegro from Four Seasons of Taiwan, Xu Jing Xin’s Wind, Wang Chang Yuan’s Fighting Against Typhoon, Chen Ning Chi’s Familiar Christmas Tunes, Lo Leung Fai’s Winter, and Johann Strass Jr’s Thunder and Lightning Polka.

This concert promises a never-before inspiring and interesting music-weather experience in Singapore! Bring your little ones and have a fun time with the SCO!
