Singapore, 11 September 2013 (Wednesday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) celebrates Children’s Day with familiar and melodic tunes for the little ones on 5 & 6 October 2013. Both concerts will be conducted by Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong and Young Conductor-in-Residence Moses Gay. Admission is free! We welcome you to bring your children and grandchildren for an afternoon of music treats!
SCO will perform at the Dunman High School on 5 October. Expect an afternoon of your favourite childhood tunes that will rouse all your sweet childhood memories such as Leroy Anderson’s well-known The Typewriter and The Syncopated Clock, Super Mario Brothers Theme Medley, The Insect World, Song for Little Angels, Medley of Children’s Folk Songs and Memories of Youth.
On 6 October, SCO will perform at the ITE College West with Do Re Mi, Doraemon, Pink Panther, The Typewriter, The Syncopated Clock, Super Mario Brothers Theme Medley, Song for Little Angels, Medley of Children’s Folk Songs and Memories of Youth.
These two concerts are made possible with the support from Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) under the SPH Gift of Music Series. The SPH Gift of Music Series has been entertaining Singapore audience since its launch in 2005. Supported by the SPH, the popular free concert series has brought music to the community in various locations such as the heartlands, parks, shopping malls, schools, campuses and the Esplanade.
