Singapore, 10 October 2013 (Thursday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) goes to Yishun Ring Road on 26 October 2013 to present an evening of world festival songs to the Yishun residents. This concert is made possible with the support from the Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Gift of Music Series. Admission is free.
Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong and Young Assistant Conductor-in-Residence Moses Gay will bring the audience to experience various festivals around the world through music! SCO will perform pieces including Liu Wen Jin’s Unforgettable Water Splashing Festival, He Zhan Hao’s Horse Racing Festival, Bizet’s Farandole, Kuan Nai-chung’s Bumper Harvest Worship, Zhou Cheng Long’s A Joyous New Year, Brazil Brazil, Chen Ning-chi’s Familiar Christmas Tunes and Kitaro’s Matsuri.
The SPH Gift of Music Series has been entertaining Singapore audience since its launch in 2005. Supported by SPH, the popular free concert series has brought music to the community in various locations such as the heartlands, parks, shopping malls, schools, campuses and the Esplanade.
