Singapore, 23 October 2013 (Wednesday) – Tickets to Voyage to Nanyang 1 – Tunes of Old Streets are sold out! Restricted view seats are now available on 9 November’s 2.30pm and 5pm’s shows. Tickets are available from SISTIC.
Voyage to Nanyang is an all-new Chinese-language concert for children, choreographed by SCO Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong, children will get to enjoy and understand Chinese orchestral music through a fun-filled way! Children will also learn about Singapore’s history and culture through this educational concert. Quek Ling Kiong (known as “Ah De” in his role), with storyteller Chen Zhao Jin, will take the children to Singapore’s legendary beginnings in the 1920s, visiting famous alleys and old houses along Smith Street, Mosque Street, Pagoda Street and Temple Street. Children will get to hear delightful pieces such as Little White Boat, Dayung Sampan, Law Wai Lun’s Admiral of Seven Seas and Prince Sang Nila Utama and Singa, Gu Guan Ren’s A Glimpse of Singapore, Phoon Yew Tien’s A Portrait of Singapore’s Children Songs and more!
There will also be pre-concert singing session and origami paper-folding activity for children (ticketholders) on 9 November 2013. This concert will be presented in mandarin, suitable children 7 years and above.
