Singapore, 12 February 2014 (Wednesday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) goes to Ang Mo Kio on 22 February 2014 and Yishun on 23 February 2014 to present two evenings of melodic tunes to the communities. 22 February’s concert will be conducted by Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong while 23 February’s concert will be conducted by Young Conductor-in-Residence Moses Gay. Admission is free!

In celebration of the year of horse, SCO will present The Good Riding Horse and Dmitri Kabalevsky’s Gallop from The Comedians, wishing everyone a prosperous year. Concert goers can also expect a selection of popular tunes such as Kungfu Panda, Malay folksong Chan Mali Chan, Indian folksong Munnaeru Valiba, evergreen pieces – Story of The Little TownSweet LoveFishermen’s song of the Eastern SeasSpringtime, and the full-of-energy A Man Should Stand Strong.

SCO Community Series brings music to your neighbourhood. This popular free concert series reflects SCO’s vision as a people’s orchestra – an institution for the community – where high standard performances are brought to the community.
