Singapore, 29 July 2014 (Tuesday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) returns to the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage, Singapore Botanic Gardens, on 3 August 2014 (Sunday) at 6pm to bring you on a musical tour to the exotic cities of China! Admission is free.
Under the baton of SCO Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong, SCO will present a selection of scenic pieces: Jiang Ying’s The Silk Road – bring you to the trade route that traversed Asia and Europe over two thousand years ago; Kuan Nai-chung’s The Beautiful Scenes of Yunnan – let you experience the life styles and customs of the people in Yunnan; western China folksong In that Faraway Place and Zhang Han Shu’s Beautiful Ke Er Qin Steppe – present to you the beautiful lush-grasslands. The concert will also present popular song Axi People Dancing under the Moon.
