Singapore, 13 April 2015 (Monday) – On this relaxing Saturday evening in May, Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) goes to The Seletar Mall on 2 May (Saturday) to perform a string of Chinese ensemble classics. This concert, to be conducted by Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong, is part of the SCO Community Series sponsored by the Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) under the SPH Gift of Music Series. Admission is free.
Enjoy tunes such as the quick rhythmic Squabbling Duck and New Rolling Walnut; Our Joe Hisashi and Three Songs From Wang Guo Bin jointly performed by Li Yuan, Qin Zi Jing and Yuan Qi. Yangqin musician Ma Huan and SCO ensemble will perform Spring Dance; SCO zhongruan ensemble will perform Camel Bell Along The Silk Road and Sword Dance; and SCO sheng ensemble will perform at the finale Nasreddin’s Medley and Sabre Dance.
