Singapore, 22 March 2016 (Tuesday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) Caring Series will visit hospitals in April to perform to patients and healthcare personnel. SCO Caring Series is an initiative, started in 2007, with the aim to benefit patients and healthcare personnel with a musical healing touch and to offer them an opportunity to appreciate the arts through this series. SCO hopes to bring encouragement to dedicated and committed healthcare workers working on the frontline through music. SCO Caring Series 2016 is proudly sponsored by Tan Chin Tuan Foundation and will be conducted by SCO Assistant Conductor Moses Gay.
SCO Executive Director, Terence Ho, shared, “SCO Caring Series is a meaningful initiative that enables us to bring warmth and joy to the patients, families and caregivers through music. We sincerely thanks Tan Chin Tuan Foundation for supporting this meaningful cause and we hope to touch the hearts of those with medical needs through the beauty of our music.”
“When we are ill and feeling down, music can uplift our spirits. Few of us are able to attend an orchestral performance when we are recuperating. But now, through this Caring Series brought to you by SCO and the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation, musicians will perform at hospitals. Ours is a message of hope and compassion for patients and their families. Through music, we express our appreciation for the hospital staff, who toil to bring comfort to so many people.”, Yap Su-Yin, Chief Executive Officer, Tan Chin Tuan Foundation.
SCO Caring Series 2016 will perform at:
- 12 April 2016 (Tuesday), 12.30pm at Tan Tock Seng Hospital
