Singapore, 29 December 2016 (Thursday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) Caring Series continues to perform at hospitals and nursing homes in January and April 2017 to patients and healthcare personnel. SCO Caring Series is an initiative from 2007 with the aim to bring the healing touch of Chinese orchestral music to patients and healthcare personnel and to offer them an opportunity to appreciate the arts. SCO hopes to bring encouragement to the dedicated healthcare workers working on the frontline through music.
All Caring Series concerts will be conducted by SCO Assistant Conductor Moses Gay. Audience will get to enjoy, sing and groove to familiar tunes such as Bengawan Solo, Di Tanjong Katong, Top of the World and Over the Rainbow.
SCO Caring Series 2017 will perform at:
* 18 April (Tue), 3.30pm – St. Andrew Community Hospital
19 April (Wed), 12.30pm – Tan Tock Seng Hospital Atrium
21 April (Fri), 7pm – Jurong Community Hospital Tower C, Community Hub
25 April (Tue), 3pm – Alexandra Hospital Auditorium
* 26 April (Wed), 3pm – Ren Ci Community Hospital
* 4 May (Thu), 2.30pm – Peacehaven Nursing Home
*These are closed-door concerts for their residents’ confidentiality and safety concerns.
As SCO Caring Series is an initiative for the wellness of patients and healthcare personnel, public members are allowed only at public hospitals.
