Singapore, 17 February 2017 (Friday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) collaborates with Singapore Press Holding’s Lianhe Zaobao digital platforms in 2017 to present yet another online digital live concert. Flavours of Chinese Music – A Night of Liu Xi Jin’s Works digital concert will be broadcasted in high definition via zaobao.sg on 4 March 2017, Saturday at 8pm. E-tickets are now on sale through http://www.zaobao.com/sco-live at only S$8 each. The digital live stream allows online audiences to enjoy the concert from the comfort of their present locations and watch the replay at their own leisure. E-ticket holders can watch replay of the digital concert till 4 April 2017, 12pm.
Flavours of Chinese Music concert will feature masterpieces by renowned Chinese composer Liu Xi Jin, including Continuous Prosperity and Fourth Movement of Poetry of Zhuang People: Shan Xiong. SCO Music Director Tsung Yeh, together with one of China’s Top Ten Ethnic Orchestral Music Conductors of Excellence and Liu Xi Jin’s wife, Hong Xia to conduct the orchestra. Acclaimed erhu musician Yu Hong Mei, konghou musician Wu Lin, SCO concertmaster and gaohu musician, Li Bao Shun, SCO dizi sectional principal Yin Zhi Yang, Vocal Associates Festival Chorus and Chorus Mistress Khor Ai Ming will share the stage in this one-night-only concert. The head of the Folk Music Department of Central Conservatory of Music, Yu Hong Mei will perform the world premiere of Poetry of Nation Spirit, while renowned konghou musician Wu Lin will present her interpretation of The Seven Great Elements of Buddhism (Tathāgatagarbha). SCO concertmaster and gaohu musician, Li Bao Shun and SCO dizi sectional principal Yin Zhi Yang, will respectively perform the Legend of the Merlion and Lingering Snow on The Broken Bridge.
Flavours of Chinese Music – A Night of Liu Xi Jin’s Works concert will be staged live at the SCO Concert Hall on 4 March 2017 at 8pm. Audiences in Singapore may watch the concert live in the concert hall with tickets priced from $21 to $74 (inclusive of SISTIC fees). Tickets are on sale at all authorized SISTIC agents.
