Singapore, 19 May 2017 (Friday) – Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) Music Oasis concert series will return to the Singapore Botanic Gardens with a repertoire of familiar tunes that will strike a chord with audiences of all ages at the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage on 10 June 2017 (Saturday), 6pm. This concert is proudly sponsored by SPH Gift of Music. Admission is free.
Under the baton of SCO assistant conductor Moses Gay and guest conductor Adrian Tan, SCO will perform a programme of popular melodies that comprise of music from the east and west. Adrian Tan is SCO’s Conducting Fellow and the Music Director of Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra and the Singapore Wind Symphony.
Reminisce the Game Boy era with the Super Mario Brothers Theme Medley (conducted by Adrian Tan) and sing along with the orchestra as they serenade you with pieces such as Under The Sea from The Little Mermaid (conducted by Adrian Tan), Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars, Wake Me Up by Avicii and the Golden Classics of JJ. The orchestra will also be performing pieces such as Strike Up the Band by George Gershwin, Fiddle Faddle by Leroy Anderson and the award-winning Admiral of the Seven Seas composed by Law Wai Lun.
