Singapore, 22 January 2018 (Monday) – The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) Lunchtime Concert will return to One Raffles Quay to bring light-hearted music to working professionals in Raffles Place . The Deutsche Bank – SCO Lunchtime Concert will be held on 7 February 2018 (Wednesday), 12 noon at One Raffles Quay (South Tower Lobby) with familiar pop songs tosing and dance along to. This concert will be conducted by SCO Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong. Admission is free.
The SCO ensemble will perform well-known English and Chinese pop songs such as Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars, Wake Me Up by Avicii and One Night in Beijing by Bobby Chen and Historia de un Amor（我的心里只有你没有他）by Carlose E Almaran. In anticipation of Chinese New Year, the audience will be able to rejoice in festive tunes such as Dance of the Golden Snake （金蛇狂舞）.
SCO guanzi musician Han Lei, sheng musician Kevin Cheng and zhongruan musician Wu Ru Qing will present Grassland Fantasia 2013 together, a work composed by NAC Cultural Medallion 2017 recipient Law Wai Lun and Singapore composer Tan Kah Yong. Deutsche Bank staff and SCO’s percussionists Xu Fan and Shen Guo Qin will perform together in the piece Matsuri re-arranged by Yeo Puay Hian. This concert is proudly sponsored by Deutsche Bank.
