Singapore, 1 February 2018 (Thursday) – The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will perform at the MPC @ Khatib (Multi-purpose Court in front of Blk 838 Yishun St 81) on 10 February 2018 (Saturday) at 7.30pm. Concert is free admission.

Under the baton of Resident Conductor Quek Ling Kiong, SCO will welcome the upcoming Chinese New Year with familiar and joyful pieces such as Celebrating the New Year rearranged by Cultural Medallion 2017 recipient Law Wai Lun, Dance of the Golden Snake arranged by Tang Jianping and adapted by Zhang Dasen, Liu Tianhua’s Nocturnal Peace re-arrranged by Yan Huichang, and Gu Guan Ren’s Second Movement: Sturdy Steeds Gallop from Spring Suite, and more.

In this concert, SCO suona musician, Chang Le, will perform Liu Ying’s Happy Lantern Festival which has been orchestrated by Zhou Zhong Kang. SCO dizi musicians Yin Zhi Yang, Tan Chye Tiong, Phang Thean Siong and Zeng Zhi will also be performing as a dizi quartet in Jiangnan Sizhu piece re-arranged by Zhou Cheng Long, Happy Times.

This concert is co-organised by Nee Soon South Community Arts and Culture Club.
