Digital Archives

Welcome to SCO’s Digital Archives, an open-access repository of information about Singapore Chinese Orchestra.

The Digital Archives are the first of their kind for Chinese orchestral music and represent a body of knowledge for academic researchers working in music, cultural studies, and related disciplines. They also provide valuable resources for music educators, students, and interested individuals who wish to foster a greater appreciation of this art form.

The collections span two decades of history, with over 2000 resources, including a range of SCO house programmes, booklets, reports, articles, photographs, and posters — as well as audio and video concert recordings. The resources include background about Chinese and Nanyang music in Singapore, valuable historical context, the evolution of SCO’s artistic ethos, and a selection of educational and outreach materials.

SCO’s Digital Archives are our contribution to cultural preservation, a way to document our legacy, and a reflection of our commitment to the continued evolution of Chinese orchestral music. We wish to extend our gratitude to Temasek Foundation for their support in developing the Digital Archives project.
