From Birds to Bugs: Darrell Ang and SCO bring nature to life in April–May Concert Duo “Songs of Ancient Birds” and “A Bug’s life”
The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will present two captivating, nature-inspired concerts on April 5 at 6:00 PM and May 10 at 7:30 PM, under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Darrell Ang. These concerts, Music Oasis: Songs of Ancient Birds and A Bug’s Life, offer audiences uniquely themed musical journeys featuring birdsong and insects respectively.

The Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO) is thrilled to announce the start of its 24/25 concert season! This season’s lineup will feature local compositions that highlight Singapore’s multicultural heritage alongside global classics. Featuring three major ticketed concerts—Youthful Rhapsody, Musical Voyage II, and Legacy III—the season promises an extraordinary lineup of performances designed to captivate and inspire audiences. Celebrating Excellence: Singapore Chinese Music Competition 2024 Concludes With Dazzling Performances
The 3rd edition of the Singapore Chinese Music Competition (SCMC) 2024 has concluded with resounding success after 18 days of breath-taking performances and fierce competition, with the “Finals for Grand Category and Prize Presentation Ceremony” held at SCO Concert Hall this evening at 7:30pm. Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, Mr Chee Hong Tat graced this event as the Guest-of-honour. This year’s SCMC was a historic milestone, with 409 participants, a record-breaking turnout in the post-COVID era. Participants ranged in age from 7 to 49 years, with 198 first-time competitors, showcasing the inclusive and growing appeal of Chinese music.

Igniting musical dreams: Singapore Chinese Music Competition 2024 set to begin on 26 November
The third Singapore Chinese Music Competition (SCMC) 2024 will officially begin on 26 November 2024 and conclude with a Prize Winner’s concert on 13 December, and Grand Finals and Awards ceremony on 14 December. The competition seeks to provide an excellent platform to develop the performing skills of young musicians, raise musical standards, discover new talents, and connect our people by supporting their lifelong interest in pursuing Chinese music in Singapore.
