The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) is set to present a captivating duo of concerts as part of 2024‘s “Virtuoso Series”: “Towards the Light” and “Ode to Peking Opera: Zhang Lie SCO.” These performances showcase the innovative charm of Chinese orchestral music and the profound essence of Peking opera.

Since its inception in 2007, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) has successfully held 92 “Caring Concert Series” performances across 52 medical and social service institutions.

The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) is excited to present two spectacular “Masters Series” concerts in August and November. These concerts will be conducted by esteemed Cultural Medallion recipients, Maestros Tsung Yeh and Yan Huichang. Each conductor will present a selection of works that reflect their unique artistic visions, exemplifying the exquisite charm and profound heritage of Chinese orchestral music.

A total of 4,600 lower secondary school students from 18 schools in Singapore experienced the joy of Chinese orchestral music this year through “SCOTIFY: A Performing Arts-Based Learning Concert”, a concert series by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO).

The Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO) and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will present their annual joint concert “Legacy II” on July 27, 2024 (Saturday) at 7:30 PM at the SCO Concert Hall, showcasing the boundless possibilities of music and the cross-generational transmission of culture.

Following the resounding success of the April tour in China, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) returns triumphantly. SCO visited three cities – Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre Grand Theatre, The National Maritime Museum in Tianjin Eco City, Tianjin Grand Theatre, and Beijing Centre for Performing Arts Concert Hall – and performed four concerts, captivating as many as 3,500 attendees. Through ticketed concerts and an outreach concert, SCO brought its uniquely Singaporean Chinese orchestral music to the Chinese audiences. Following this successful tour, SCO will present the ” CONFLUENCE: SCO China Concert Tour 2024 Homecoming Concert” on July 6, 2024, at the SCO concert hall.

Fans of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) can look forward to a vibrant line-up of concerts from July 2024 to June 2025, paired with diverse art forms such as Malay dance, Chinese painting, and Peking opera.
