Internationally acclaimed huqin master George Gao will join hands with SCO Associate Conductor Moses Gay to perform a variety of works on the shaoqin, an instrument invented by Gao himself! Other than the opening piece Surging Forward, Gao will also perform Capriccio No. 2 – Mongolian Fantasy and debut the Chinese orchestral version of Capriccio No. 6 – Shaoyin. In addition, the concert will see the Singapore premiere of Wang Danhong’s Four Seasons in Lingering Garden, which depicts Suzhou’s landscaped gardens and transports the audience to the idyllic Jiangnan water town.
